This stunning Australian native shows off delicate looking silver foliage that is extremely soft to touch, hence it’s common name.
Perfect for a potted specimen, this gorgeous plant can be grown as a specimen in the garden and makes an extremely striking hedge plant; the small red flowers are a standout against the silvery foliage. Andenanthos is often used as a genuine Australian Christmas tree as the silvery background and red flowers look the part beautifully.
Adenanthos is hardy and drought tolerant once established, and tolerates light frosts. Prefers a sunny open position in a well drained soil, and copes well with poor sandy soils. A light prune after flowering will encourage strong new growth.
