Hardenbergia Purple Spray

A beautiful and versatile plant that can be used as a tidy climber, small shrub, for low hedging and containers. It flowers spring through summer with lovely sprays of bright purple pea flowers which contrast nicely with the dark green foliage. It grows to a couple of metres high and a metre wide, and it will twine around supports if needed. A very easy care plant, it grows in full sun to part shade, does well in light clay to sandy soils. Low frost tolerance. It can be pruned back by a third to rejuvenate the plant. It will fix nitrogen from the air, so is good for the soil.
